That was the Dutch election - Gains and fails
Wilders tweeted: "PVV voters thanks. We won seats, first victory is in. Rutte hasn't got rid of me yet."
PVV-stemmers bedankt!
We hebben zetels gewonnen!
Eerste winst is binnen!
En Rutte is nog lang niet van mij af!!

Mark Rutte told crowds of supporters after the exit polls were released. "This is a night for the Netherlands. After Brexit, after the US election, we said 'stop it, stop it' to the wrong kind of populism."
Wilders called Rutte’s remarks
... very worrying, as if populists are semi-Nazis … If all the losers like the VVD form a government, we need to have a strong opposition of winners like the PVV.
The biggest looser yet were the social democrats, an ongoing trend in many European countries. The party saw its number of seats tumble from 38 to 9, with analysts suggesting that voters were punishing the party for its role in the coalition government. Party leader Lodewijk Asscher described it as “a bitter evening for Labour; unbelievably disappointing”.
Turkey said there is “no difference” between the ruling Dutch liberals and the “fascist” anti-immigration politician Geert Wilders, after Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte defeated the far-right in elections, AFP reports.
“You look at the social democrats and the fascist Wilders, there is no difference, they have the same mentality,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said according to state-run news agency Anadolu. A reaction totally de-placed, as Turkey is moving towards a complete totalitarian state system under Erdogan.
The secretary general of France’s Front National said he was encouraged by the gains for Geert Wilders. “It’s a real success,” secretary general Nicolas Bay told France Inter radio, referring to how Wilders party had won more seats, despite losing the overall result to Dutch center-right prime minister Mark Rutte.
It seems the change is coming slow, cause as we can see, the VVD lost 8 seats compared to the last election in 2012 and the PVV gained 5 seats. So even the PVV missed being the majority winner, it won by support.
Turnout was more than 81%, the highest in 30 years.
As a result Mr Rutte said: "We want to stick to the course we have - safe and stable and prosperous." This shows that neither the people nor the government have learned from their mistakes, rather they were able to sell their destructive course into something positive.
We must generally understand that Europeans are 'still' well off; good incomes and a healthy social system. In the eye of the citizens, everyone can be carried by the system. Who has time to calculate the limits, or see the threats of Islam as it grows? Many experience either no Muslims, or the so called moderate ones, who keep the ball low when in minority.
Wilders is not giving up, and that is clear. He warned that Mr Rutte had "not seen the last" of him. "It's not the 30 seats I hoped for but we have gained seats," he added. "This patriotic spring will happen."
In another tweet Geert Wilders stated: Very proud of all our voters, more than 1 million Dutch citizens! Thanks! 12 years after establishment, PVV the second party of all! Great!!
This was the first national election in Europe in row, that will be followed by France, Italy and Germany.
